Lia I AthanassiouLia I. Athanassiou is a Professor of Commercial Law at the Law Faculty of the University of Athens and a barristerat- law entitled to plead before the Supreme Court. She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Athens, two LLM degrees, inCommercial Law from the University Aix- Marseille III) and in General Private Law from the University of Paris II-Panthéon-Assas, and a PhD from the University of Paris I-Panthèon-Sorbonne, as well as authorization by the University of Paris I-Sorbonne to supervise University research. She is also a visiting scholar - Harvard Law School (2007-2008), Fulbright Scholar (2007-2008); member of the Hellenic Competition Commission (2003-2008); and has served as member of Legislative Committees on various commercial law issues. She has published extensively on matters of Commercial, Competition, Company, European, and Shipping law.
