Lica SainciucLică Sainciuc was born in Chişinău in 1947. He graduated with a degree in Architecture from the Technical Institute of Moldova in 1971. He began his career as a scene painter and puppet creator and began illustrating children's books in the 1970s. Hehas illustrated more than one hundreds books for children, among which are: Abecedar (The ABC-book, by Grigore Vieru and Spiridon Vangheli, 1970), Albinuța (The Bee, by Grigore Vieru, 1979), Steaua lui Ciuboțel (The Star of Ciuboțel, by Spiridon Vangheli, 1981), Bunicuţa cu poveşti (Grandmother with Fairy Tales, by Constantin Dragomir, 1988), Trei urși (Three Bears, by Robert Southey, 2008), Punguța cu doi bani (The Purse with Two Coins, by Ion Creangă, 2008), and Alfabetul cu povești (The Alphabet with Fairy Tales, by Lică Sainciuc, 2017).
