Loretta BurnsLoretta Burns is a professor emerita of English and a former department chair at Tuskegee University. An Alabama native, she received her bachelor's degree from Tuskegee, her M.A. from Ohio State University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Michian. She has also studied at Columbia University and the Sorbonne and conducted research at Harvard and Yale Universities. She has held faculty positions at Fisk University, the University of Florida, and Washington University in St. Louis.
