Lorna WoodLorna has always been a wanderer, always in search of adventure. After escaping from an alcohol-fuelled violent marriage, she proudly raised her three children alone. Her strong pillars of guidance and stability have been her mature age education, he Christian faith, and her 'can do' approach of 'never giving up'.Through Lorna's thirty years of working in the helping professions, particularly with people living with intellectual disability and/or autism she was driven by the need to support individuals and families to achieve a more satisfying lifestyle. Later, she was humbled by the trust shown to her, by people recovering from addictions. Lorna's lifetime of learning has enabled her to advocate effectively for both her eldest son and others, who, due to various difficulties, struggled to communicate effectively. Lorna now lives peacefully alone, writing, gardening, listening to music, walking in Australia's bushland, and reminiscing about her children and her grandchildren.
