He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in areas such as ethics, psychoanalsis, ancient philosophy and science, philosophy of sport, and social and political philosophy and has authored/edited over 30 peer-reviewed books, eight of which are on Thomas Jefferson--e.g., Dutiful Correspondent: Philosophical Essays on Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson's Philosophy of Education: A Utopian Dream, Thomas Jefferson: Uncovering His Unique Philosophy and Vision, Thomas Jefferson: Moralist, and Thomas Jefferson's Utopian Vision and the Metaphysics of Morality. Professor Holowchak is also the author of an entry titled "Thomas Jefferson" for Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy and is editor of the Thomas Jefferson Heritage Society's journal, Journal of Thomas Jefferson's Life and Times.
