M S Enigma
Mariana Sofia Enríquez, known professionally as M. S. Enigma, grew up in the shadow of Spain's post-Franco era, in a working-class family in Valencia. The Alcàsser Girls case, which unfolded when she was just 14 years old, profoundly impacted her hildhood, sparking a lifelong fascination with unsolved crimes and the human stories behind them. She pursued a degree in Journalism and Criminology at the University of Valencia, graduating with honors in 2001. During her studies, she interned at local newspapers, where she honed her skills in investigative reporting. Enríquez later earned a Master's in Forensic Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid, blending her interests in media and criminal behavior. Her early career involved freelance writing for Spanish true-crime magazines and contributing to documentaries on cold cases, but she adopted the pseudonym "M. S. Enigma" in 2005 to protect her privacy amid threats from sources connected to her investigations.
