Manna LiuManna Liu (嘉妮), from Sichuan, immigrated to Canada in 2003 and now resides in Edmonton. She is an employee at NorQuest College, a member of the Alberta Writers' Guild and the Edmonton Pen Pals Association, and a recipient of the Edmonton Arts CouncilGrant. She has published bilingual children's stories in Canada, which have become extracurricular reading materials. Currently, she focuses on writing about the immigrant life of overseas Chinese. Her work "The Comfort of Scallion Pancakes and Coffee" won first prize in a writing contest by Canada's Guanghua Daily; "On the Path Forward" won second prize in a writing contest by the magazine Chinese Women; "Jane in Red Dancing Shoes" won third prize in a writing contest by the Magazine Selected Novels; and "Mother's Small Bowl of Noodles" won third prize in the national "Piao Mu Cup" writing contest. Her works have been published in Style, Sichuan Prose, Jialing River, Redwood Forest, Shanghai Overseas Chinese Newspaper, Chinese Literature in Canada, and other domestic and international media.
