Marc Girolimetti
Marc Girolimetti is a first-generation Italian American, former entrepreneur, and new ventures professor at Boston University. He grew up among the grit and humor of Roxbury, in his family's bar Columbo's, which inspired The Sieve: A Resolutio of Misdeeds. Marc left his career to become a full-time "Cancer Dad," managing his daughter's extraordinary fight with leukemia. He wrote much of the novel during sleepless nights at Boston Children's Hospital. Today, he serves as New England Chair for Blood Cancer United's Visionaries of the Year campaign and lobbies for cancer patients nationwide. Away from advocacy, Marc loves being a Girl Dad, watching his daughters take on an unforgiving world, or wandering the woods with his boxer, lover of people and enemy of coyotes.
