Marcia K MartinMarcia K. Martin, a resident of the Alabama Gulf Coast and native of Mobile, has been writing poetry since she was a child. Her first chapbook, Random Symmetry, was published in 1985 in Birmingham, Alabama. Her work has also been published in numerou small presses, including Negative Capability, Druid Press, and The Mesquite Review, among others. Martin also writes fiction novels. Her novel The Parallel is slated for release in late 2017, and The Power of Dolphins has an anticipated release date in 2018. In addition to a lifelong career as a wordsmith, Martin is also a professional radio personality, musician and licensed massage therapist. She has performed with Karamawen, a world music ensemble, which features original spoken word and indigenous instrumentation. However, poetry remains her heart and soul. She is active in performance poetry in many different venues, and has read in bookstores, coffee houses and art galleries all over the Eastern seaboard, from New York City's Greenwich Village to the Gulf Coast.
