Marie Of the TrinitySr. Claire Marie of the Immaculate Heart, O.C.D. (1925-1996), was a Discalced Carmelite Nun who wrote these letters under the nom de plume of Sr. Marie of the Trinity. In 1950, as a new Carmelite, Sr. Claire Marie was part of the small group of Nuns ho ventured out from the Carmel in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to found the Carmel of the Holy Cross in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Sister wrote this collection of letters for the diocesan newspaper to explain Carmelite life to the people.
