She earned a B.A. at the University of Rochester and an M.A. at the University of Michigan. Hr post-graduate work was done at the University of Missouri Kansas City and at Central Missouri State University. She and her husband, Ken, have four grown children and live in the Missouri countryside halfway between Kansas City and Springfield.
