A founder-editor of Scratch magazine and Mudfog Press, he has worked as a vegetarian chef, in community arts and as Executive Director, North East at Arts Council England. His How I Learned to Sing was publihed in 2013 by Smokestack. His manifesto-cum-toolkit for a fairer arts sector, Tactics for the Tightrope, is published by Future Arts Centres.
