Mary WheelerMs. Wheeler was born and raised in Kansas, but has lived most of her life in Newport, Rhode Island. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Music Education and from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Landscape Architcture. Ms. Wheeler has worked in a variety of fields including as a restaurateur, music educator, landscape architect, and financial analyst. Ms. Wheeler is certified as a Holistic Counselor after attending the Expressive Arts Institute at Salve University in Newport, RI. She is the author and illustrator of several children's books which are inspired by the ocean that surrounds her and the antics of her 7 grandchildren. Ms. Wheeler currently lives in an 1894 Japanese Arts and Crafts home which she and her husband are in the process of restoring.
