Matthew Burkart Matthew J. Burkart, P.E., President of his own consulting firm, AEGIS CORP. Mr. Burkart has been involved in construction litigation and has served as an expert witness for many of the country’s largest and best-known firms as well as for OSHA. He has been a co-author in the ASCE Publication: Crane Safety on Construction Sites. He has also written several articles, the latest of which, Wouldn’t It Be Great If.. is an article about site-specific safety planning on the construction site and appears in the May issue of ASCE’s Practice Periodical. He served for 14 years as Chairman of the A10 ANSI standards committee, Safety Requirements for Construction and Demolition Operations and remains an active member through participation in work groups for training standards. His knowledge of the construction site and its intricacies began many years ago when he worked as a cub carpenter to finance his college education.
