Max AubMax Aub (1903-1972), was a prolific Spanish-Mexican novelist, playwright, critic and screenwriter. His best known novels are part of El laberinto magico (The Magic Labyrinth), centered on the Spanish Civil War. Active in the Republican cause, he was mprisoned in forced labor camps after General Franco's victory.
