Melissa CrookMelissa Crook is a Canadian artist who's main body of work depicts animal creatures of fact and fiction. Working in mainly watercolour, acrylic and graphite, she has sold her work to collectors around world. She started drawing at the age of 5 when hr Mother taught her the basics, and ultimately received her Bachelors degree in Design. Her often highly detailed subjects are inspired by classic literature, the gothic novel and folk tales. However, nature and all that inhabits it, is her greatest inspiration for her creations. Ever the active imagination, she enjoys finding beauty in the unconventional, or is otherwise inspired to give the conventionally beautiful, a subtle touch of darkness or whimsy. Her work aims to evoke the viewer's own imagination, as well as offering a glimpse into her own mind. Melissa is a nature lover and conservationist with a great fondness for tea.
