Melissa Kreider
Melissa Kreider is currently a postdoctoral researcher at NREL's Chemistry and Nanoscience Center. Her research in the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells group focuses on improving the performance and durability of anion exchange membrane water electrolyzersfor green hydrogen production. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016. She then did her doctorate in chemical engineering at Stanford University with Professor Thomas Jaramillo, where she developed non-precious metal fuel cell electrocatalysts and investigated catalyst material changes and degradation during reaction using in situ X-ray techniques and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry.
