Michael L MillensonMichael L. Millenson was born in Washington, DC to Roy H. Millenson and Charlotte K. Millenson and grew up in nearby Bethesda, MD. A history and economics major at Washington University in St. Louis, he worked as a journalist for nearly two decades ad was nominated three times for the Pulitzer Prize as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune. Michael left journalism to write a groundbreaking 1997 book on improving the quality, safety and patient-centeredness of medical care, Demanding Medical Excellence: Doctors and Accountability in the Information Age. Subsequently, as a health care consultant and adjunct faculty at Northwestern University, he has continued to write, speak and advocate on these topics. He and his wife, Susan, an art and architectural historian, are the parents of Daniel and Alissa and are active in the North Suburban Chicago Jewish community. Read More Read Less
