Michael StathopoulosMichael Stathopoulos (born 4 July 1938 in Athens) is Professor of Civil Law at the Law Faculty of the University of Athens. He studied at the Universities of Athens (1956a 1960, where he obtained his Law degree) and Munich (1963a 1967, postgraduate sudies with a Greek State Scholarship). With his first thesis on a Die Einziehungsermachtigunga (1967 in German) he obtained his doctorate (Munich); with his second thesis on a Unjust enrichmenta (1972, in Greek), after a second research period in Munich, 1969a 1971, as Humboldt-Stiftung Scholar, he was elected as "agrege" (Athens). In 1975 he was elected Extra-ordinary Professor in the Law Faculty of the University of Athens (Chair of Civil Law) with a three-year mandate, at the end of which he was elected professor ordinarius.
