Michael TierneyMichael Tierney was born in Hartlepool in 1949 into a conservative Catholic family. He trained to be a teacher at Trinity & All Saints Colleges and Leeds University and taught in Catholic primary schools in Birmingham for 38 years, 27 of these as a hadteacher.
From 1985 until 2019, he was involved in marriage preparation in his local parish.
