Michael Twomey

Mr. Justice Michael Twomey is the author of Partnership Law (Bloomsbury Professional), a leading text on the law of partnership in Ireland and other common law jurisdictions.

He is regarded as an international expert on the law of partnersip and lectured for several years in partnership law in Trinity College Dublin.

He was awarded a Ph.D. by University College Dublin for his research into partnership law and has also been a Visiting Researcher in partnership law at Harvard Law School.

Prior to his appointment to the High Court, he practised for many years in partnership law, advising national and international clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious partnership matters.
His textbook on partnership law is regularly relied upon by the Irish Courts and it has been extensively relied upon by the Law Commission of England & Wales which has described him as a 'distinguished commentator’ on the law of partnership.
He has appeared before the Northern Ireland Assembly on partnership law matters and his views on partnership law have been relied upon in the Dail.
