Michele Pettyjohn
Michele is a retired high school teacher with twenty-five years in the classroom and has continued to volunteer and substitute teach for many years. She has watched the school environment change over the past forty-six years-and change dramaticall in recent years. Michele recognizes new dangers of being in the classroom that need to be addressed, and she has a unique ability to participate in conversations about important education topics such as isolation and depression. Her new book, Always, includes a plan to assist schools and help school children in distress.
In the creation of Always, Michele was assisted by a past student, Shala, who shares her love of science as well as the distressing gift of seizures. Shala became an epileptic as a child and Michele as an adult following brain surgery. Always shares not only the stories of isolation and concern that go with having epilepsy but also highlights the experience of moving to another dimension having left the body as part of an aura experience. Always is both a story of true love and a vehicle to educate about epilepsy and its different forms and treatments.
