Michelle DennisMichelle Dennis serves as Faculty at National University. Dr. Dennis has held various positions in academic affairs over the past 24 years. She formerly served Dale Kietzman University as Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer,where she raised enrollments by 37% through the establishment of partnerships with community organizations. She also previously served Adler University as Executive Dean and Chief Academic Officer of the Online Campus where she raised enrollments by 26% through the implementation of market-informed program adjustments and increased retention rates from 85-86% by adjusting student advising protocols. Outside of academia, Dr. Dennis formerly served the US Census Bureau as a Statistician. She has spearheaded business ventures in the areas of statistical consulting and education solutions. Dr. Dennis provides service to the Higher Learning Commission as a Peer Reviewer and she serves as a Reviewer for the International Journal of Smart Education and Urban Society and the Journal of Research in Innovative Teaching and Learning. She previously served as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Anafiel House, a nonprofit serving survivors of intimate partner violence. She also previously served the Online Administration Network of the Association for Professional, Continuing, and Online Education as a Vice Chair. She spearheaded the first fully online bachelor’s degree program in an Illinois prison, funded by a $900,000 Bureau of Justice Assistance grant. Dr. Dennis earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Marquette University, her MA in Training and Development from Roosevelt University, her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the American College of Education, and her MBA from Eastern University. Dr. Dennis has published in the areas of online faculty management, virtual student and faculty engagement, online faculty training and evaluation, and best practices for online instruction.
