Mike SmallMike Small was born and grew up in New Zealand. Mike qualified and graduated as a veterinarian from Massey Univer-sity, Palmerston North, New Zealand in the 1980s. After work-ing in New Plymouth for six months, he owned a mixed animal veterinary pracice in Napier for nine years, before moving to Auckland where he spent most of his working life as a partner in a companion-animal practice. His special veterinary interests include surgery and ultrasound. He has been involved in and acted as a trustee of a dog rescue trust for many years. Outside of work, his family is a big part of his life and he is an avid runner, cyclist, hiker, traveller, and amateur chef.
