Mildred Albronda

Mildred Albronda Mildred Albronda was a charter member of Docents for the Deaf at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Her role there inspired her to research and write about artists who attended the California School for the Deaf in Berkeley (now in Fremont). Anartist herself, and a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco, she contributed articles to art magazines and encyclopedias and authored Douglas Tilden: Portrait of a Deaf Sculptor and The Magic Lantern Man: Theophilus Hope d'Estrella. Her work on Redmond previously served as the foundation for The Oakland Museum's 1988 exhibition and catalogue Granville Redmond. Read More Read Less
