Miya first started making amigurumi in 2001 after becoming a mother. Her work aims to tell a story through crochet. As a practicing clinical psychologist, Miya recognizes the positive impact that creating things with your hands can have on mental ealth. She is the author of multiple books published in Japan, and she regularly holds classes to teach others how to crochet.
