MJ, Craig D. McLaughlinCraig D. McLaughlin, MJ is a journalist, author, and public speaker. He was executive director of the Washington State Board of Health when he co-authored the first edition of this book. He joined the Board as senior health policy manager in 2001 andserved as executive director from 2004 to 2011. Immediately prior, he served as director of college relations and adjunct faculty for The Evergreen State College. As a newspaper editor and freelance journalist for more than a decade, Mr. McLaughlin wrote and edited articles on a broad range of health issues. He has served as a communications consultant to foundations and as a management consultant to media organizations. Mr. McLaughlin earned his Bachelor of Arts in biology from Wesleyan University and his Masters in Journalism from the University of California at Berkeley.
