Márcio MartinsMárcio Martins has a PhD in Tourism from the University of Aveiro, a master's degree in Natural Hazards Management and a degree in Geography from the Faculty of Arts and hHmanities of the University of Porto. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at te Polytechnic University of Bragança (IPB) and his main research areas are the spatiotemporal behaviour of tourists, tourist tracking technologies and backpacker tourism. He teaches the General Principles of Tourism, Tourism and Development, Tourism Destination Management and Tourism Product Development courses on the Tourism degree programme, and co-teaches the Master's Seminar in Tourism Marketing, among others. He has also collaborated with the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Lamego School of Technology and Management, where he teaches the “Geography, Landscape and Geotourism” course in the Tourism, Cultural and Heritage Management degree programme. He is currently an integrated member of CITED - IPB's Centre for Transdisciplinary Research in Education and Development, a collaborating member of the Centre for Research, Development and Innovation in Tourism (CITUR) and also of IPB's Management Applied Research Unit (UNIAG). He is the author of a book, several book chapters and several scientific articles in international journals (Scopus/WoS), and has also presented several papers at scientific conferences in the field of tourism.
