Nancy OmarNancy Omar is an Egyptian-Canadian writer and trauma counsellor whose work explores identity, belonging, and healing across personal and cultural borders. Originally from Alexandria, Egypt, she writes from lived experience and deep listening, shaped y migration, survivorship, and the long work of reclaiming voice.Trained as a Registered Social Service Worker, Nancy works in the Violence Against Women sector, offering trauma-informed counselling and facilitating healing programs for women impacted by gender-based and intimate partner violence. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work at Laurentian University, where her learning continues to be guided by relational, community-centred approaches to care.Writing has always been her refuge-a place to hold complexity, tenderness, and truth. Her work weaves together Eastern, Western, and Indigenous ways of knowing, with a deep respect for the resilience of women and the wisdom that emerges from survival.Nancy lives in Ontario. She loves poetry, reading, and quiet moments with her dog, Milo, and her cat, Melo. Across Borders is her first full-length book. Read More Read Less
