Nell JosephNell Newman launched Newman's Own Organics with business partner Peter Meehan in 1993. She is the daughter of actors Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, from whom she received an early introduction to natural foods, environmental concerns, cooking, and ly-fishing. She attended the College of the Atlantic, graduating with a B.S. in human ecology. Before founding Newman's Own Organics, she worked at the Environmental Defense Fund, the Ventana Wilderness Sanctuary, and the Santa Cruz Predatory Bird Research Group.
