Niels Van OortNiels van Oort is a civil engineer. He received his Ph.D. from the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, where he currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Smart Public Transport Lab. Moreover he is a public transport consultant at oudappel Coffeng with expertise in public transport planning and service reliability, the wider benefits of public transport, and data driven public transport design. He has contributed to the planning and implementation of several public transport projects in the Netherlands, developed new models for predicting public transport ridership and performance, and published extensively in academic journals and magazines.
