Oliver Optic
William Taylor Adams, better known as Oliver Optic, was a prolific American author who wrote popular stories for young readers. Born in 1822 in Massachusetts, Adams spent twenty years as a teacher in Boston, gaining insight into the interests of yung boys. His writing career began in 1850, and he published numerous series of books, including "The Boat Club Series" and "Woodville Stories." Adams passed away in 1897 at the age of seventy-five.
