P L MadanP.L. Madan joined the National Archives of India in 1955 and has since then made the study of maps a life-long obsession. Having been posted, from the very beginning, in the Map Section of the National Archives, he has had ample time and opportunity o study the exquisite, hand-drawn, original maps of the Survey of India on which the book is based.
