Pat PattersonPat Patterson is a paramedic, photographer, and lifelong student of the Holy Shroud of Turin. While studying at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara during the late 1970s, he served as an assistant to Professor Vernon Miller, Chief Scentific Photographer for the Shroud of Turin Research Project (STURP). Working closely with Miller and other members of the STURP team, Pat contributed to several foundational studies on the Shroud, including research into art history, fluorescence, the effects of direct bodily contact on image formation, and computerized 3D imaging. Pat lectures frequently on the trauma evident in the Shroud, with an emphasis on the profound suffering endured by the man seen on its fibers.
