Patricia ParishI was born in Canada to a wonderful family and grew up with two sisters and two brothers. At age 21 I got married and moved to the United States. My first introduction to poetry was coming home from school and seeing my mother writing poems. She love to write and it wasn't until after she passed on that we found her poems. It was very exciting to be reading her thoughts and feelings that she shared on those pieces of paper after so many years. I typed all the poems up and put the poems away in a safe place. Years later my six year old son starting writing love letters to me and again I put them in a safe place. Years later I located them and typed them up. I had forgotten he had written poems until he was about 15 years old. I plan to publish his poems someday. I started writing poetry about eight years ago. There were so many thoughts in my head that I didn't want to lose and I found it so exciting to put the words in my heart into a book.
