AldertonPatrick Alderton qualified as an Extra Master after serving on most of the major types of ships and then became a lecturer on the commercial transport courses at the London Guildhall University in the 1970s. There he was appointed a CNAA Research egree Examiner. He moved to the World Maritime University in Sweden as the Professor of Ports and Shipping in the late 1980s.
