Paula CPaula Vickery's five-year sailing experience on a 33-foot steel ketch to the South Pacific was her inspiration in writing her memoir Sailing Bear Cub. She has published two articles in the sailing magazine Latitude 38. She had a 45-year psychiatric/mntal health nursing career and co-authored an article on Lithium in the Canadian Nurse magazine. She obtained a Master's in Nursing in 2003 and worked in private practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with prescriptive authority (APRN-Rx) until her retirement in 2015. She is an avid Polynesian Outrigger canoe paddler and enjoys traveling, watercolor painting, Yoga, Zumba, and all things creative. She lives in Hilo, Hawaii with her husband. Read More Read Less
