Penny Van Esterik is a retired Professor of Anthropology from York University where she taught nutritional anthropology, advocacy anthropology and feminist theory. Past books include Beyond the Breast-Bottle Controversy, Maerializing Thailand, and Food and Culture: A Reader (edited with Carole Counihan).
