Pete Olczyk

Peter John Olczyk was born in Manchester. He studied art foundation at Manchester Metropolitan University and then illustration at Stockport College, where he met his future wife. As a child he had chronic asthma and drawing and making models was useful escape as his love of books and illustration developed. Pete now works full time as an illustrator, continuing his studies online. He lives in the Highlands of Scotland with his wife and two young children. He uses his own experiences and memories as a child and those of his kids to put himself in the mind and shoes of a child when he illustrates, as well as being greatly influenced by stories, music, and nature. His work is also influenced by artists like Shaun Tan, David Litchfield, Lucy Fleming, Robert Kondo, and Daisuke Tsutsumi.
