Peter BonoPeter Bono is an Italian American who grew up in the '50s, '60s, and '70s in the Bushwick/Bed-Stuy section of Brooklyn where drugs, petty crime, and gang violence were common. Writing a novel was last on his "bucket list," which included riding motorycles, skydiving, and completing the New York City Marathon. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, (not on his bucket list), afterward was employed at the Veterans Affairs Hospital on Long Island for 29 years.
