Philip Francis NowlanPhilip Francis Nowlan (1888-1940) was an American science fiction writer. He began his career as a newspaper columnist, but eventually tried his hand at fiction. Nowlan's first science fiction novella, Armageddon 2419 A.D., introduced his famos astronaut hero Buck Rogers, who inspired a long-running comic strip and two television series.
