His current interest is in media for communication and education. He received the title of honorary professor by UESCO for his results in educational technology in web-based learning. He was chair of the NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Cognitive Technologies. “Web-based Communities” and “Social Media” were the main focus of the journal IJWBC and subsequent IADIS yearly conferences.
