Pieter CallensPieter Callens(1980) is an attorney-at-law specialising in intellectual property law and ICT within the Belgian law firm Eubelius. He obtained a Master in Law at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and a Master in Economic Law at the niversité Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). During his law education, Pieter studied as an exchange student US patent law at Duke University (North Carolina, USA). He was admitted to the bar in Belgium in 2004. Between 2008 and 2010 Pieter was advisor to the Belgian Minister of Economy with respect to intellectual property matters. Pieter advised the Belgian Presidency of the European Union in 2010 when the EU Council reached a political compromise on the language regime of the Unitary Patent. Pieter is a member of AIPPI, INTA and LES and was appointed by the Belgian government as permanent member of the Advisory Board for Intellectual Property. He has written several publications on intellectual property law and is a frequent speaker regarding IP and ICT topics. Pieter is one of the authors of the Kluwer Patent Blog.
