Pulin B Nayak

Pulin B. Nayak is Professor of Economics at the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, Delhi. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York, in 1975. He has been on the faculty of the Deli School of Economics since 1978. During 1982–84 he held the Agatha Harrison Fellowship at St Antony’s College, Oxford. He has been the Head of the Department of Economics and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences in the University of Delhi. During 2005–08, he was Director, Delhi School of Economics. He specializes in public economics and welfare economics. His recent book is entitled Markets and Governments (edited with Kaushik Basu and Ranjan Ray).
