Rajiv Ranjan

Rajiv Ranjan is the university chair professor for Internet of Things research, co-director of the Networked and Ubiquitous Systems Engineering (NUSE) Group and academic director of the School of Computing, as well as research director of the Newcstle Urban Observatory at Newcastle University, UK. He is an expert in algorithms, resource management models, and distributed system architectures for cloud computing, IoT, and big data. He has developed novel techniques and distributed system architectures to facilitate performance-driven provisioning of multimedia and IoT applications over multiple cloud datacentres. He serves on the editorial board of international journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing and Future Generation Computer Systems. He is a senior member of IEEE.
