Randell JonesRandell Jones has received two Kentucky History Awards from the Kentucky Historical Society and also the national History Award Medal from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution as well as awards within North Carolina for other hisory books. He is the author of the award-winning "Before They Were Heroes at King's Mountain" and other history books about the pioneer and Revolutionary War eras, especially "A Guide to the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail." Randell served for 14 years as an invited member of the North Carolina Humanities Council's Road Scholar Speakers Bureau, speaking to audiences around the state. He as spoken to statewide gatherings of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) across the Southeast. He is host of BecomingAmerica250.com and frequently writes history-based columns for the editorial pages of the local newspaper.
