Rashida K BasariaRashida Kelli Basaria discovered her talent and passion for writing at the age of 13. She began writing poetry in high school and her collection continued to grow. She received her bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies, minoring in psychology, from Flrida International University at the age of 33. After experiencing the loss of her younger brother, and then her mother, both to suicide, Rashida felt inspired, and a bit terrified, to share her traumas and triumphs with the world. She uses writing to be vulnerable with herself and others and aspires to reach those experiencing or struggling to cope with the same trials and tribulations she has endured. Born and raised in Miami, Rashida currently lives in Florida with her amazing son. She has been a bartender, a bank teller, a shoe store manager, among other things, but she has always been a writer.
