Renee Baert
Renee Baert is a Canadian critic and independent curator. She holds a PhD in Communications from McGill University, Montreal. She has curated numerous exhibitions at galleries across Canada; and was Director/Curator of the Gallery of the former Sadye Bronfman Centre for the Arts, Montreal. She has also held teaching positions at Concordia University, Montreal, in the Intermedia/Cyberarts, and MFA programs. Baert has written extensively on contemporary art for numerous art magazines and catalogues, and several of her essays have been anthologized. She is editor of the anthology Territories of Difference (1993), and co-editor of Curatorial Strategies (2006), an issue of n.paradoxa magazine.
