Rhys D EvansDr Rhys Evans is a Consultant Anaesthetist at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, and Reader at the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics, University of Oxford. He qualified in medicine in 1982 from St Bartholomew's Hospital, London University, traine in anaesthetics at the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics in Oxford before undertaking research at Oxford University. Dr Evans is a Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist with a special interest in cardiothoracic critical care medicine. He has an extensive teaching commitment to undergraduate students both in clinical and preclinical science, and tutors anaesthetic trainees. Dr Evans main research interest is in cardiac metabolism in health and disease, especially fuel selection and the role of plasma lipoproteins.
