Richard SamulisRichard spent the first sixty years of his life preparing to be a fiction writer, and now writes full-time. Born in outback Quorn, South Australia, raised in Adelaide, Richard did all manner of jobs in his early years, including grape picking, talc mning, car assembly, waiting-on, ditch-digging and bar work. In his twenties he decided to pursue a career in the IT industry, based in the UK. He learned an enormous amount about how these industries operate, and about the foibles and subtleties of different cultures. In a complete change, Richard returned to Adelaide in the early 2000's, became a student again, and completed his Masters' degree in architecture. He completed a couple of years' internship before sitting the architect registration exams, and then set up his own practice - only to slowly realise that his heart lay instead in writing. Somehow or other, Richard also found time along the way to race formula cars, fly ultralights and scuba dive all over the world. He now spends his time reading, travelling, playing the sax, and most importantly, writing. Read More Read Less
